recent graduate of our Paws and Stripes Program
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Yesterday afternoon K-9 Diesel became the newest member of our incredible Comm Center Team as he was welcomed to his new and “furever” home in the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Communication Center.
K-9 Diesel is a recent graduate of our Paws and Stripes Program and will serve as a comfort dog to our team of Telecommunicators who have one of the most difficult and stressful jobs in our profession.
These amazing women and men are the first line of defense for our citizens and are the eyes and ears for our Deputies as they respond to calls for service throughout Brevard County. Their job is to make sure our citizens are safe, deliver the right resources for each incident, and to make sure that our Deputies go home safe at the end of each shift.
They are the lifeline for all of us and they are one of the reasons our community is one of the safest in the country.
To say their job is stressful is a significant understatement, so our team decided to assign K-9 Diesel to live in the Communications Center so he could help keep an eye on them and make sure that they go home safe at the end of each shift as well.
If you are a dog owner, you know exactly what I mean when I say “keep an eye on them and make sure that they go home safe” and you also know exactly what K-9 Diesel’s assignment is.
He will without question be one of the most adored and spoiled K-9’s in our profession and will also show them each and every day how much they are loved and appreciated as well.
Our team is so excited to have a new addition to their unit and I have a feeling that K-9 Diesel hit the jackpot with this assignment and his new “furever” home.
Please join me in thanking our team for all they do to keep us safe and in congratulating K-9 Diesel on his new assignment.
