BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Space Coast author Ann Marie Conklin was at “hello again books” in Historic Cocoa Village signing copies of her recently released memoir, “A Grave for the Devil: A Warrior’s Memoir.”
Her daughter, Anja, who is well known locally as an outstanding singer/songwriter, was on hand supporting her mom, playing the guitar, and singing. The Friday Night Locker Room’s Steve Wilson covered the book signing for Space Coast Daily TV.
Conklin’s book, which can be purchased at Amazon.com, describes her very difficult and challenging childhood.
As her book description reads, the reader is drawn into “her harrowing journey of crime, chaos, abuse and betrayal.”
During an earlier conversation with Wilson, she said, “My older brother, the devil in this book, abused all of the younger siblings in every way imaginable.” She went on to say, “by the time I was eight years old, I was being forced to commit crimes for him.”
Conklin was breaking into homes, shoplifting, and much more. With the support of some caring and loving individuals, she dug out of her past and is currently a licensed therapist that has treated children for over 20 years.
“The book is ultimately about helping survivors,” said Conklin.
Ann Marie Conklin is a survivor. If anyone knows how to put a troubling past behind them and move forward, it is her.
