BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Circuit Judge Tesha Scolaro Ballou sentenced 31-year-old Courtney Gibson to 30 years in state prison after she entered a plea of guilty to Second-Degree Murder, and Tampering with Evidence, in connection to the death of 36-year-old Anna Primavere in Titusville.
Gibson was adjudicated guilty and must complete 10 years of supervised probation, including mandatory psychiatric evaluation and treatment, following her release from prison.
Gibson was given credit for 1,310 days served since her arrest.
In February of 2020, Titusville Police were notified that Primavere was missing from a home on Trinidad Ave where she rented a room. However her car, phone, and other belongings were still there.
The homeowner told police that Gibson had also been staying at the home caring for his child while he was out of town. He returned to find his child alone, and both Gibson and Primavere gone.
There was also evidence that a crime scene had been cleaned and the mattress from Primavere’s room was missing.
Investigators later located Gibson in Lebanon, Tennessee, along with her car containing Primavere’s body.
Police believe that Gibson and Primavere had a confrontation in the home that led to Primavere’s murder.
Gibson will now be transferred to the Department of Corrections to begin serving her sentence.
