Florida Tech Panthers Women’s Basketball Cruises Past UPR-Rio Piedras to Capture Third Straight Win

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE – The Florida Tech women’s basketball team cruises to their third straight victory with a 94-50 win over UPR-Rio Piedras.
NOTABLE PANTHERS:
Emily Acampora led Florida Tech in scoring with 22 points, going 8-15 from the field, 4-8 from beyond the arc, and 2-2 at the line. She also added four rebounds, two assists, and one steal.
Divine Guthrie hit double figures, construing 15 points along with four rebounds and two assists.
Jessica Lange posted a season-high 12 points with eight rebounds, one assist, one steal, and one block. Tai Roberts had a game-high four steals along with six rebounds.
INSIDE THE SCORE:
Florida Tech moves to 10-0 all-tine against UPR-Rio Piedras. This was their first meeting since Nov. 25, 2014.
Tech finished the game shooting 46.5% (33-71) from the field, 53.8% (7-13) from beyond the arc, and 70% (21-30) on free throws.
UPR-Rio Piedras shot 27.5% (19-69) in the contest, 10.78% (4-37) from the three-point range, and 61.5% (8-13) from the line.
Florida Tech held the advantage in rebounds (56-35), points in the paint (48-26), fast break points (17-12), second-chance points (20-3), and bench points (70-11).
UP NEXT: Florida Tech returns to action on Friday when they travel to the ERAU Thanksgiving Classic to take on North Greenville. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
