OBITUARY: Palm Bay Resident Lillian Lois Howard Blackledge, 79, Passed Away at the William Childs Hospice House

A devoted military wife, Lillian navigated the Blackledge family's many moves including Ohio, California, New Mexico and Florida

Lillian Lois Howard Blackledge, 79, of Palm Bay Florida passed away peacefully at the William Childs Hospice House on Monday, October 16, 2023. A devoted military wife, Lillian navigated the Blackledge family’s many moves including Ohio, California, New Mexico, and Florida. 

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Lillian Lois Howard Blackledge, 79, of Palm Bay Florida passed away peacefully at the William Childs Hospice House on Monday, October 16, 2023.

She was born on September 25, 1944 in Houston, Texas, the daughter of William Henry Howard Sr. And Maxine Weishuhn Howard.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband Ronald Gene Blackledge and son Bryan Howard Blackledge.

A loving and devoted mother, grandmother and sister, she is survived by her son Kevin Owen Blackledge and wife Jamie (Hudgens), grandson Kevin Jessie of Albuquerque, NM, daughter-in-law Wendy Marie Blackledge (O’Connell), granddaughter Zoe Rose, grandson Hunter Michael of Melbourne, FL. Brothers William Howard Jr. and wife Virginia, of Houston, TX and Chuck Howard and wife Robin of Jupiter, FL.

In 1964, she married the love of her life Lt. Colonel Ronald Gene Blackledge and together had 2 children Kevin and Bryan.

A devoted military wife, Lillian navigated the Blackledge family’s many moves including Ohio, California, New Mexico, and Florida. Lillian enjoyed the outdoors, traveling, sailing and the beach. She especially loved the holidays and spending time with friends and family.

Lillian’s kind, loving, easy-going nature will be missed by all that loved her.

The service will be held on Monday, November 27 at 11:00 A.M. at First United Methodist Church at 110 East New Haven Avenue, Melbourne, Florida 32901.
