Space Coast HBCA, Boys and Girls Club, BPS’s Matt Susin Host Thanksgiving at Temple Terrace in Melbourne

Families meet at Temple Terrace Boys and Girls Club to eat and receive a turkey to take home for Thanksgiving

For the sixth consecutive year, the Space Coast Home Builders and Contractors Association has come together with the Boys and Girls Club, School Board Member Matt Susin and Croton Elementary teacher Leslie Walters to break bread and celebrate Thanksgiving at Temple Terrace in Melbourne.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – For the sixth consecutive year, the Space Coast Home Builders and Contractors Association has come together with the Boys and Girls Club, School Board Member Matt Susin and Croton Elementary teacher Leslie Walters to break bread and celebrate Thanksgiving at Temple Terrace in Melbourne.

Families meet at the Temple Terrace Boys and Girls Club to eat together and receive a turkey to take home for Thanksgiving.

Coordinated by the President of HBCA John Thomas and Erin Harvey, Senior Development Officer of Boys and Girls Club Brevard the event is a special time for all involved.

“I am so grateful for the community that supports the children and families year around and especially this time of year. These are true family moments that we get to be part of and enjoy the energy of bringing people together,” said Ms. Harvey.

School Board member Matt Susin a former teacher at Eau Gallie High School, taught students from Temple Terrace and is so impressed with how the Thanksgiving event has grown.

“Without John Thomas and the HBCA team this event would never happen for these families,” said Susin. “My hat goes off to Erin Harvey and the Boys and Girls Club Staff for all that they do for these children.”

HBCA members brought their families and some went on to play basketball afterwards.

“Over the six years the Space Coast Home Builders and Contractors Association has had the privilege of partnering with the Boys and Girls Club, we have annually served Thanksgiving dinner to over 40 kids and their families, it is a blessing,” said Bob DiBella, President of the Space Coast HBCA.

“It takes a community to build community, and the HBCA has proven their commitment to give back to Brevard County.”
