Nearly 1,100 students are eligible to receive their diplomas
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Eastern Florida State College students will celebrate a major achievement in their lives on Thursday, December 14 during Fall Commencement.
Two ceremonies will be held at the King Center for the Performing Arts on the Melbourne Campus at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., with nearly 1,100 students eligible to graduate.
“Graduation is a special day for students that culminates years of hard work and opens the door for them to embark on their careers. It’s also a testament to the support they have received from family and friends. It’s one of my favorite days of the year at EFSC,” said college President Dr. Jim Richey.
The events will be televised live on WEFS-TV and streamed on the college’s @easternflorida YouTube Channel. Graduates, families, and friends are asked to include #EFSCGrad in their social posts for possible inclusion on the commencement social wall.
Guests of all ages will not be allowed in without a ticket and must sit in the assigned seat. Graduates who RSVPd to take part in commencement have been emailed details on claiming guest tickets.
Once reserved, tickets are scheduled to be delivered electronically via an email from the King Center on Monday, December 11.
The Registrar’s Office will also email pre-ceremony check-in details along with how to access regalia students may have earned such as Honors graduate and Veteran’s cords.
Because of ticketing requirements, walk-up requests on December 14 to participate in commencement cannot be accommodated.
Under the King Center’s bag policy no large bags are allowed in the venue and any bag or container not meeting these approved options will have to be returned to the vehicle:
■ A non-clear wristlet/wallet/clutch 4.5”x8.5”x2” or smaller
■ Clear bag up to 12”x6”x12”
■ Clear one-gallon plastic resealable storage bag
■ Caps and gowns are required for the services and are available at the EFSC Campus Bookstores.
The EFSC Foundation will be selling flowers, commemorative t-shirts, and other graduation-related mementos outside the King Center, with a portion of the proceeds benefitting EFSC student scholarships.
Graduates will have a professional photo taken while they are on stage by GradImages and the company will contact students directly with photo details and how to purchase them.
