Eastern Florida State College Women’s Tennis Team Opens Season with a Victory

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College women’s tennis team picked up a win in the home opener Friday at Titan Tennis Center on the Melbourne campus.
The Titans picked up the 7-2 victory against Gustavus Adolphus College from Minnesota.
The women swept the doubles matches as Lucia Lucas and Laura Yans teamed up to edge Allison Szalay and Molly Austin in a tiebreaker. Elena Martinez and Emma Sanchez combined to win the No. 2 doubles 8-5 and the No. 3 doubles team won 8-4.
Martinez, Sanchez, Gento, and Lucas all won their singles matches in straight sets to win the season opener.
Eastern Florida State College will host Hillsborough Community College in the Region VIII opener Thursday at 11 a.m. Admission to matches at Titan Tennis Center is free.
