Brevard’s Jackie Barker Inducted into American Advertising Federation Florida and Caribbean Hall of Fame

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Jackie Barker, founder and president of Sky Advertising, has been inducted into the Florida and Caribbean Advertising Hall of Fame in recognition of her distinguished career in the advertising industry.
Barker and five other marketing and advertising professionals were selected by their peers and recognized April 19 during “The Voice of Advertising Summit” in Orlando.
Hosted by District 4 of the American Advertising Federation, the Florida and Caribbean Advertising Hall of Fame celebrates industry leaders who have distinguished themselves in the marketing and advertising field with more than 20 years of outstanding career achievements, an impact on the advertising industry, philanthropic work, upholding principled standards and exhibiting excellent leadership qualities.
“It is an honor to be chosen for the 2024 Class of the Hall of Fame alongside many well-respected colleagues from across the region,” said Barker. “I’m proud of the work my team and I do, and I am grateful for this recognition.”
Barker began her career in media sales 30 years ago, moving to the agency side first as a media buyer, and then an agency partnership that captured a major tourism client, furthering her growth in the industry.
In 2000, she launched Sky Advertising, which is now established as one of the Space Coast’s leading full-service advertising firms representing local, regional and national clients. The agency has earned over a hundred ADDY awards including many Best-of-Show honors. In addition, Barker is an AAF Silver Medal recipient and was presented AAF District 4’s highest volunteer service honor, the Jack Phillips Gold Medal Award in 2015.
Barker has served many years in the American Advertising Federation, twice as the Space Coast President, as well as on many district committees, including government relations where she helped defeat Amendment Five that threatened to tax the advertising industry. She served two terms as AAF’s Fourth District Governor, as AAF National Board Member and as Chair of the AAF Eastern Region.
Baarker has generously served on local and regional nonprofit boards, including United Way, The Women’s Center, Cocoa Beach Area Convention Visitor’s Bureau, Cocoa Beach Regional Chamber of Commerce and Brevard Zoo.
