Propeller Club of Port Canaveral Names Bob Sielski 2024 Member of the Year

BREVARD COUNTY • PORT CANAVERAL, FLORIDA – The Propeller Club of Port Canaveral has named Bob Sielski as Member of the Year 2024.
Bob Sielski has been a member of the Propeller Club of Port Canaveral for over ten years and is currently serving as club Secretary for the sixth year in a row.
Bob has had a long and distinguished career as a Naval Architect. Some of his career highlights include developing a guide for the design and construction of aluminum marine structures that has become a standard reference for aluminum ship structures; working with the Naval Sea Systems Command; and advising the Office of Naval Research on its Ship Structure Reliability program.
He received the Distinguished Service Award in 2011 from the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers and was elected a Fellow in 2012. He has worked on and chaired committees with the Marine Board of the National Academy of Sciences and the American Society of Naval Engineers.
Bob has shown his dedication to the mission of the Propeller Club of Port Canaveral by volunteering not only as Club Secretary but also faithfully attending the club’s Keep Brevard Beautiful Clean Up days and serving on the Education Committee.
He is very passionate about the club’s maritime education efforts; scholarship program and the Canaveral Port Ministry. In his spare time, Bob is an avid marathon runner.
He has run a marathon in all 50 states, Canada, and in London, England, and has run half marathons in Antarctica and on the Great Wall of China!
Theresa Clifton, President of the Propeller Club stated, “The Propeller Club of Port Canaveral was very proud when at the recent Southeast Regional Area Conference which was held in Port Manatee, Bob competed with 16 other Port nominees and was also selected as their 2024 Member of the Year.”
The Propeller Club is a business network dedicated to the promotion of the maritime industry, commerce, and global trade. They help foster relationship-building and communication among Port Canaveral stakeholders, the maritime industry, local businesses, and the broader community.
The Club hosts monthly luncheons that feature guest speakers (open to the public); and host special events: the annual ShrimpFeast; July fireworks dinner; and an annual Christmas Party.
