BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA – Cocoa Beach Police Cpl. Ingersoll is being heralded as a hero after his quick action helped save a man whose boat capsized near Peebles Bridge.

Police say on Monday at around 1:30 a.m., Cpl. Ingersoll responded to an emergency call about a man whose boat had capsized and sank under Peebles Bridge.

The man was stranded alone on the bridge bulkheads.

“Thanks to Cpl. Ingersoll’s swift action, he was rescued by the Police Marine Unit and brought back to safety,” said a Cocoa Beach Police spokesperson.

“Huge thanks to Cpl. Ingersoll for your quick and heroic response!”
