Palm Bay Police Department Promotes Commander Jeff Spears to Deputy Chief

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Palm Bay Police Chief Augello has announced the promotion of Commander Jeff Spears to the rank of Deputy Chief.
Deputy Chief Spears has been with the Palm Bay Police Department since 2010.
He has served as a Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, member of the Crime Suppression Unit, Special Operations Unit and SWAT Team.
As a Sergeant, he supervised in the Patrol Section, Internal Affairs, and Major Case Unit.
While serving as a Lieutenant, he was assigned as a watch commander and to the Community Services Section.
In this role, he served as the agency’s Public Information Officer, as well as managed the Community Resource Unit, Traffic Unit, Youth Services Unit and VCOP Program.
As Commander, he continued to serve in the Community Services Section as well as the Support Services Division.
