BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Eastern Florida State College Golf teams and tournament sponsors helped raise more than $155,000 for Eastern Florida State College student scholarships at Duran Golf Club in Viera on Friday.

It was the EFSC Foundation’s 11th Annual Scholarship Golf Classic, with the four-person Progressive Cleaning team taking first place, Tremco Inc.’s team in second, and Architects RZK, Inc. rounding out the third spot.

The longest drive by a woman went to Chelsea Lore and the men’s longest shot was Brandon Manasa. The Closest to the Pin prize was captured by Mary Burns and Kurt Marcello shot his way to that honor for the men, with the individual honorees all earning $50 Ron Jon’s gift cards.

“On behalf of all of us at Eastern Florida, I’d like to personally thank each and every one of you participating today for your generosity,” college president Dr. Jim Richey told tournament participants.

“Over the past 11 years, your strong support of this event has enabled us to raise more than $1.3 million in scholarships for deserving EFSC students. That’s incredible, and we are very grateful.”

“We all know that events like this don’t just happen overnight. They take months of hard work and planning. So, I’d also like to recognize Tonya Cherry, the Executive Director of the EFSC Foundation, and her team for their efforts.”

The tournament’s major sponsors at the $10,000 level and above were Community Credit Union, Glover Orndorf & Flanagan Wealth Management, Ajax Building Corporation, and AM-KO Building Maintenance. Sponsors at the $2,500 level and up were Mid-Florida Steel Erector’s Association, Presidio Network Solutions, Wharton-Smith Construction Group, the Health First Foundation, Progressive Cleaning, the Cocoa Rotary Foundation, Tremco, Inc., Boys Electrical Contractors, Sky Advertising, Coastal Steel Group, Inc., Kyocera, and MH Williams Construction Group.
