Florida Tech Panthers Marta Llopis, Rebecca Storr Tabbed SSC Players of the Week

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Marta Llopis and Rebecca Storr of the Florida Tech women’s soccer team have each been named Sunshine State Conference Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively. Both athletes starred for Tech in their recent victories over Tampa and Barry.

This is Llopis’s second time winning the award in her career and her second of the season. For Storr, this is her first Defensive Player of the Week award of her career. As a team, the Panthers have now collected Player of the Week honors five times this season.

In the Panthers’ 3-0 shutout of Tampa on Nov. 4, both Llopis and Storr contributed by scoring the final two goals of the match. Llopis also assisted on Storr’s goal. Storr was dominant on the defensive end, leading the way in a game in which Tech only allowed a total of one shot and no

The Pantchers continued their dominant play by shutting out their next opponent, Barry, 2-0. Llopis left her mark offensively by leading the team in shots with five and assisting on Tech’s second goal that was scored by Ximena Jauregui.

Storr was a defensive force once again, shining as the Crimson and Gray allowed only two shots on the day and just one shot on goal.

Tech will look to continue their dominance into the SSC Tournament when they face Barry in the quarterfinals as the #1 seed.
