BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – To address the ongoing threat posed by opioids such as heroin and fentanyl, the Brevard County Housing and Human Services department invites residents to come to a town hall to share their thoughts and experiences.

The Town Hall will be held on Dec. 11 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Melbourne Library, 540 Fee Avenue in Melbourne.

Opioid overdoses and deaths have hit Brevard hard in recent years and are still affecting communities throughout our county.

Whether you’ve struggled personally, know an individual or family who’s been affected by opioid use, or are concerned about the impacts of opioids and drugs in your community, your experiences and opinions will help us find ways to effectively combat the many tragic impacts of these powerful drugs.

If you cannot attend one of the upcoming town halls, please take the 11-question Opioid Epidemic Awareness Survey, which is available until Dec. 13.

Survey results will help the County and our partners develop comprehensive opioid misuse prevention and response plans that will support healthier communities.
