Cocoa Beach Police Department Welcomes Newest Officer Burell

Last Thursday, Chief Mullins officially welcomed Officer Hnyla Burell to the Cocoa Beach Police Department during a proud swearing-in ceremony.

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA – Last Thursday, Chief Mullins officially welcomed Officer Hnyla Burell to the Cocoa Beach Police Department during a proud swearing-in ceremony. 

Officer Burell, a recent graduate of the law enforcement academy at Eastern Florida State College, joins the department with a strong foundation of training and preparation.

Her journey in law enforcement continues with a three-month initial training program, during which she will work closely with experienced officers to develop the skills and knowledge necessary for serving the Cocoa Beach community effectively.

This hands-on training will help her transition from the academy to active duty, allowing her to apply her education in real-world situations while learning from seasoned professionals.

Officer Burell’s dedication to her chosen career path has already been evident through her hard work and achievements at the academy.

The department is excited to see her grow and thrive as a valuable member of the team, and her arrival marks another step toward strengthening the department’s commitment to safety and community service.
