Eastern Florida Women’s Basketball Travels South for Conference Matchup vs Miami Dade College

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College women’s basketball team will travel to Miami to play Miami Dade College in a battle of top teams in the Citrus Conference on Saturday afternoon.

The Sharks are leading the Citrus Conference with a 3-0 start in the conference and is 7-2 on the season after defeating St. Petersburg College 97-60 on Monday. Miami Dade College has won six straight heading into Saturday’s game.

Shameir Quimby is leading the FCSAA in points per game, averaging 21.4 points and has scored 20-plus in each of the past two games.

Teammate Cleaira Peterson is third in the state averaging 19.2 points and 12.2 rebounds which is second in the FCSAA.

Peterson has recorded a double-double in each of the past six games and is averaging at least 19 points in each of the games.

Eastern Florida State College comes into the contest 2-1 in the conference and 9-2 overall and are ranked 24th in the NJCAA Division I National Poll.

The Titans defeated Hillsborough Community College 85-65 on Monday. Karen Nimo is averaging 14.8 points per game and is coming off a season-high 26 points against the Hawks while Jalei O’Neal is averaging 11.5 points.

Saturday’s game will begin at 2 p.m. The Titans will be back at Titan Field House Monday evening at 5:30 p.m. against St. Petersburg College.
