BREVARD COUNTY • VIERA, FLORIDA – Bernadette Kilbane and 12 other senior residents of the Indian River Colony Club in Viera laid wreaths on the graves of their spouses at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery during the annual Wreaths Across America event this month.

They were able to do so with the welcome assistance of Brevard County Volunteers in Motion, which transported the group in three mini vans, driven by volunteers coordinated by Lori Hamilton, program supervisor for Space Coast Area Transit.

The wreaths were donated by the Good Deeds Foundation of the Military Officers Association of America, Cape Canaveral Chapter (MOAACC). National Wreaths Across America Day honors the veterans who served our nation.

Members of the national Wreaths Across America organization honor their mission ‘to Remember, Honor and Teach’, by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as at more than 2,500 additional locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea, and abroad.
