BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Earlier today, I had the honor of speaking to members of the Greater Palm Bay Chamber of Commerce on various topics about our agency and our approach to crime prevention.
Speaking at these events provides a great opportunity to discuss with our community and local businesses, the various things we are doing as an agency to help keep Brevard County and its citizens safe, and how we look to our local businesses to partner with us.
During today’s presentation we discussed things from our Lunch & Learn programs that we offer where we come educate businesses on safety and protection, frauds and scams, and so many more.
I love sharing with everyone the amazing programs we have at our Jail Complex, from the Paws and Stripes Program that uses inmates to train child comfort dogs, to our Chain Gang, and how these programs help reduce recidivism.

Of course we discussed how partnering with our local law enforcement agencies, as well as our community, is what helps keep the crime rate down in Brevard County.
As I always say, it takes a community to protect a community, and speaking at events like this gives me the opportunity to share just how important that phrase is.
A huge thank you to Nancy Peltonen for inviting me to speak at today’s event, Azan Shiners for hosting us, and of course to everyone who attended for all they do in our community to make Brevard County such a great place to call home.
