Help Protect Satellite Beach in Beach Cleanup First Sunday Morning of Each Month
By Space Coast Daily // January 4, 2025
Volunteers of all ages are encouraged to participate

BREVARD COUNTY • SATELLITE BEACH, FLORIDA — The City of Satellite Beach continues ongoing efforts to protect and preserve the local shoreline with a public beach cleanup on the first Sunday of every month at Hightower Beach, kicking off at 9 a.m.
Hightower Beach, a beloved local spot known for its pristine sands and vibrant marine life, has been the focus of increasing community-led environmental initiatives.
The monthly beach cleanups aim to address the accumulation of debris while fostering community involvement in environmental stewardship.
Volunteers of all ages are encouraged to participate. The city will provide cleanup supplies such as gloves and trash bags, but attendees can bring their reusable tools to reduce waste. Participants should bring sunscreen, water, and appropriate footwear for walking on sand.

The initiative aligns with the city’s commitment to environmental sustainability and protecting Florida’s coastal ecosystems. By removing litter, participants can help prevent harmful materials from entering the ocean, where they can pose serious risks to marine animals.

The public beach cleanup will occur at 9 a.m. this Sunday and every first Sunday of every month at Hightower Beach in Satellite Beach. This event is open to all community members and visitors.
