BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Indian Harbour Beach City Council Member Hamilton Boone passed away on January 9 at age 77.
“With heavy hearts, the family of Council Member Hamilton “Ham” Boone and the City Council announce his untimely passing on January 9, 2025,” said a post on the City of Indian Harbour Beach Facebook page.
“A beloved husband, father, veteran, medical professional, advocate for the disabled, and University of Alabama super fan, he will be missed by all who knew him. Thank you, Ham, for your life of service and impact upon the City you loved.”
Originally from Eau Gallie, Boone entered the Marines shortly after graduating High school in 1967. Afterward, he obtained his Bachelor’s in biology from Georgia State University and then earned a post-graduate degree as a Physician’s Assistant (PA) from the Medical College of Georgia.
Upon graduating, Boone practiced at medical centers across the country and, in 1989, developed and instituted a new P.A. practice model in Atlanta, providing surgical PAs to hospitals and surgeons and then bringing that concept home in 1998.
He found time to serve the local community through volunteering and community engagement, and most recently, Ham was recognized by Central Florida’s VA Regional Medical Center for his contributions to disabled veterans through the coaching and teaching of Adaptive Training.
