BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Cocoa High School announced that DeMarkulus Menyfield will take over as the defensive coordinator for the Tigers as they begin their quest for a fourth straight state football championship this upcoming season.

Menyfield steps into the role previously held by Matt Diesel, who recently accepted the head coaching position at Titusville High School.

Well-acquainted with the local football scene, Menyfield has previously coached at Cocoa Beach High School and Viera High School.

A native of Mobile, Alabama, Menyfield brings a wealth of experience, including a 20-year career in the U.S. Air Force from 1998 to 2018. During his time in the military, he also played semi-professional football overseas.

Following his playing career, Menyfield transitioned to coaching, leading the same team he played for in Germany while serving in the U.S. Air Force.

Now, he looks to make an impact at Cocoa High School as he takes charge of the Tigers’ defense.
