BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Newly sworn-in Congressman Mike Haridopolos took to the House floor to celebrate the extraordinary achievements of the Cocoa Tigers High School football team on Capitol Hill.
Congressman Haridopolos, representing Florida’s 8th Congressional District, used his first remarks on the House floor to honor the Tigers’ dedication, teamwork, and resilience.
“Mr. Speaker, I rise today with great pride to congratulate the remarkable Coco High School football team for the third consecutive state Championship. I would like to take this opportunity to come in and celebrate the exceptional leadership of their hope head coach, Ryan Schneider, whose dedication to excellence has been instrumental in guiding these young athletes to achieve great success on and off the field. Furthermore, I’d like to express my gratitude to Cocoa Mayor Mike Blake, for his support of the team and his efforts to promote athletics within our community. To the many seniors who will continue their athletic career at exceptional universities across the country, I wish you the best of luck, and I hope you will continue to make Brevard County proud.”
“I am proud to recognize the Cocoa High School Football Team and Coach Ryan Schneider for their outstanding state championship victory on the House floor. Go Tigers,” said Rep. Mike Haridopolos.
The team recently clinched their third-straight state championship title, solidifying their reputation as one of the most formidable high school football programs in the state and the country.

The Tigers’ road to victory was anything but easy. Facing fierce competition throughout the season, the team demonstrated an unwavering determination and an ability to overcome adversity.
In his address, Congressman Haridopolos commended the team’s head coach, Coach Ryan Schneider, for his leadership and vision. He also acknowledged the contributions of assistant coaches, staff, and the school administration in creating an environment where student-athletes can thrive both on and off the field.
The recognition on the House floor underscores the importance of celebrating local achievements on a national stage. Haridopolos expressed his hope that the Tigers’ story would motivate others to set ambitious goals and work tirelessly to achieve them.
The Cocoa Tigers’ accomplishment has not only brought pride to their community but has also inspired young athletes across the nation.
Their recognition in the halls of Congress is a reminder of the impact of sports in fostering unity, character, and a commitment to excellence.
The Cocoa Tigers secured their third consecutive Class 2A State Championship with a 38-27 victory over the Gadsden County Jaguars in December at Pitbull Stadium in Miami.
The remarkable win not only cements Cocoa’s dominance in Florida high school football but also adds another State Championship trophy to the school’s storied history, bringing their total to seven championships.
Brady Hart Shines in Championship Victory
The Player of the Game honors went to Cocoa’s dynamic quarterback, Brady Hart, who delivered a standout performance both through the air and on the ground. Hart threw for 259 yards and added 64 rushing yards, accounting for two total touchdowns in the win.
His versatility and poise under pressure were pivotal in the Tigers’ victory, as they held off a resilient Jaguars team that fought hard throughout the game.
Hart’s performance not only helped Cocoa claim the title but also showcased his ability to perform on the biggest stage. Looking ahead, Hart will take his talents to the college ranks, as he is signed to play for the Texas A&M Aggies next year, further solidifying his status as one of Florida’s top quarterbacks.

Cocoa’s offense was also bolstered by the impressive play of Jayvan Boggs, the team’s star wide receiver. Boggs racked up 112 receiving yards and caught one touchdown pass, helping the Tigers in crucial moments of the game.

The senior wideout has already signed his Letter of Intent to play at Florida State University next season, where he will continue his football career at the collegiate level.
Boggs’ combination of speed, hands, and football IQ made him a constant threat throughout the game, and his performance in the state title matchup was a fitting capstone to a stellar high school career and proven to be one of the best wide receivers in the nation.

In his seventh season at the helm, Schneider has now led the Tigers to an impressive 79-18 record and three consecutive state titles. His ability to keep the team focused and motivated year after year is a testament to his coaching prowess and leadership.
