BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA—After two seasons at Hofstra University, Brevard native Eric Parnell transferred to Farleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey.
Parnell played high school basketball at Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, averaging over 10 points per contest.
He decided to stay local and attend Eastern Florida State College, where his play was consistent once again, averaging in double figures and starting 21 of 31 games starting 21.
His play earned him opportunities with various schools, but he ultimately chose to sign with Hofstra University in New York. When arriving at Hofstra, Parnell was redshirted in his sophomore season, allowing him to put on muscle and acclimate to the team.
This past season, Parnell played limited minutes but showed promise, scoring in double figures multiple times. In 11 minutes a game, Parnell averaged 4 points and shot well from behind the arc.
Now, Parnell heads to Farleigh Dickinson, which has grabbed the spotlight in recent years. Back in 2023, they pulled off the improbable, upsetting No. 1 seed Purdue as a 16-seed in the NCAA tournament.
