■ Swearing-In Ceremony: The schedule includes a series of traditional proceedings, beginning with a musical prelude at 11:30 a.m. ET performed by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Combined Choirs and “The President’s Own” U.S. Marine Band.

■ Farewell to Outgoing Leaders: A formal farewell will be held for outgoing President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris as they depart the Capitol.

■ Signing Ceremony: Trump will proceed to the President’s Room in the U.S. Capitol for a signing ceremony, where he will execute early presidential actions, such as nominations and executive orders.

■ Inaugural Luncheon: The Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies will host a luncheon in Statuary Hall to honor the new president and vice president.

■ Pass in Review: President Trump and Vice President Pence will review the military troops in a traditional ceremony.

■ Presidential Parade: Unlike the usual parade down Pennsylvania Avenue, Trump’s inaugural parade will be held indoors at Capital One Arena due to inclement weather. The parade will feature marching bands, performances, and remarks from the president.

Inaugural Balls: The day concludes with three inaugural balls:

■ Commander in Chief Inaugural Ball: Featuring Rascal Flatts and Parker McCollum, this event honors military service members.
■ Liberty Inaugural Ball: Nelly, Jason Aldean, and The Village People are set to perform at this ball for Trump supporters.
■ Starlight Ball: Singer-songwriter Gavin DeGraw will perform at this exclusive event for top donors.
Trump is expected to deliver remarks at each ball.

The inauguration will officially begin with a call to order by Sen. Amy Klobuchar, followed by an invocation led by Timothy Cardinal Dolan of New York and the Rev. Franklin Graham. Opera singer Christopher Macchio, known as “America’s Tenor,” will perform “Oh, America!”

Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, appointed to the bench by Trump in 2018, will administer the vice-presidential oath to JD Vance. Following this, country singer Carrie Underwood, joined by the Armed Forces Chorus and the U.S. Naval Academy Glee Club, will deliver a stirring rendition of “America the Beautiful.”

Chief Justice John Roberts will then administer the presidential oath of office to Trump, solidifying his return to the Oval Office. Afterward, the Naval Academy Glee Club will perform “The Battle Hymn of the Republic,” leading into Trump’s inaugural address, where he is expected to outline his vision for the next four years.

The ceremony will conclude with a benediction delivered by an interfaith group, including Rabbi Dr. Ari Berman, Imam Husham Al-Husainy, Pastor Lorenzo Sewell, and Father Frank Mann. Macchio will return to perform the National Anthem as the inaugural event comes to a close.

Post-ceremony events include a signing ceremony, an inaugural luncheon, and a military “pass in review,” where Trump and Vice President Vance will review troops. The day will culminate in the presidential parade, which will take place indoors at Capital One Arena due to the cold weather.

The Trump-Vance Inaugural Committee has emphasized the significance of this year’s theme, noting it reflects the resilience of American democracy.

■ Closing Ceremony on Tuesday–National Prayer Service: The post-inaugural tradition continues as Trump attends a prayer service at Washington National Cathedral, concluding the festivities surrounding his return to the presidency.
