BREAKING: Cocoa Beach Police Investigate Suspicious Incident at Cape Canaveral Hospital

Police say there is no credible threat and the area remains secure

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA – Cocoa Beach Police officials said officers are on the scene near Cape Canaveral Hospital investigating a suspicious incident on Saturday.

A Cocoa Beach police spokesperson said there is no credible threat, and the area remains secure. However, officers are conducting a thorough search as a precaution.

“We strongly believe this was a swatting situation,” said Health First spokesperson Lance Skelly. “The hospital is on lockdown while security, law enforcement, and dogs go through one last sweep. We do not believe there is any threat, however.”

Law enforcement asks the public to avoid the area for the time being.
