FHP: Motorcyclist Killed in Crash on U.S. Hwy. 1 Near Harbor Oak Lane in Titusville Thursday Evening

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Florida Highway Patrol Troopers are on the scene of a fatal crash that occurred at approximately 6:31 p.m. Thursday evening.
According to an FHP spokesperson, the crash occurred on U.S. Hwy. 1, south of Harbor Oak Lane in Titusville.
“Preliminary evidence shows a 2019 RAM 1500 was stopped, facing west at the stop sign of U.S. Hwy. 1 and the Manatee Hammock Campground,” said the FHP spokesperson.
According to an FHP spokesperson, a 2009 Honda VT750 motorcycle was traveling northbound on U.S. Hwy. 1 south of Harbor Oak Lane in the outside lane when the pickup truck driver attempted to make a left turn on U.S. Hwy. 1 and entered the direct path of of the motorcycle.
The FHP spokesperson said the RAM 1500 driver, a 66-year-old man from Eaton, Ohio, was not injured and remained on the scene.
The man operating the motorcycle, who has not yet been identified, was transported to Parrish Hospital and pronounced dead. The female passenger was airlifted to Orland Regional Medical Center with serious injuries but is in stable condition.
There is currently a roadblock for the northbound lanes on U.S. Hwy. 1 and this crash remains under investigation.
