Project SEARCH empowers young adults with disabilities

BREVARD COUNTY • FLORIDA — After completing his Project SEARCH internship, Jack is officially starting his career as a Nursing Support Associate at Health First, with plans to become a CNA.
His journey wasn’t easy — in the beginning, he had doubts, but Project SEARCH turned out to be an amazing opportunity: “After graduation, I got to attend a Career Camp at the hospital with Project SEARCH, and during that camp, I realized Project SEARCH has no cons at all!”
Reflecting on his experience with Project SEARCH, Jack highlights the impact the program had on his life and career: “I felt more independence and I didn’t have someone hovering over me, and the best part there is NO HOMEWORK! I think more importantly Project SEARCH is all about us getting a job and I have been discouraged and confused when trying to find a job before, but they made the process easier and helped me understand the important steps.”
Project SEARCH empowers young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities by providing them with the skills, resources, and opportunities needed to achieve competitive employment.
