12-Year-Old Boy Airlifted to Arnold Palmer Hospital in Orlando After Suspected Shark Attack in Cocoa Beach

Brevard County Fire Rescue Emergency Medical Crews were dispatched to the 2000 block of East Cocoa Beach Causeway at 12:34 p.m. Sunday in response to a report of a shark bite involving a 12-year-old male who sustained significant traumatic injuries as a result of a shark bite.

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA – Brevard County Fire Rescue Emergency Medical Crews were dispatched to the 2000 block of East Cocoa Beach Causeway at 12:34 p.m. Sunday in response to a 12-year-old male who sustained injuries as a result of a suspected shark bite.

The incident was reported to have occurred in the waters near the Causeway, and medical crews responded quickly to the scene and began providing immediate treatment.

According to Brevard County Fire Rescue, the victim was transported to Arnold Palmer Hospital in Orlando, and his current condition has not been released.

The circumstances of the incident are under investigation, and beachgoers are urged to exercise caution in the area near the attack.
