BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Occasionally, I meet a young person that really makes a positive impression on me. Nirvaan Dalal, a senior at Edgewood Jr/Sr High School in Merritt Island, is just such a person.
Not only has Dalal been a volunteer at Candlelighters of Brevard for several years, but he is now organizing a Childhood Cancer 3K Walk/Run that will take place on Saturday, May 10, at Kelly Park West in Merritt Island.
The Walk/Run gets underway at 8:30 a.m.
The entry fee is $20. To register for this event, CLICK HERE.
Dalal told me, “I have been volunteering with them for several years, and during this time I have developed a deep passion for supporting children impacted by cancer. I urge all of you to join me in supporting this important cause.”

Samantha Roualet, Director of Finance and Operations at Candlelighters of Brevard, had this to say about Dalal, “As a volunteer and ambassador, he has raised so much awareness for local children battling cancer. Candlelighters is honored to be the beneficiary of the Childhood Cancer 3 K. This event, created by Nirvaan, has already helped raise over $12,000.
For a high school student to take the time to give back is incredible. Especially during AP exams and tennis tournaments. I look forward to watching him continue to make positive impacts in our community.”
Candlelighters of Brevard is a wonderful organization that offers emotional support and financial assistance for children with cancer and their families. To learn more about Candlelighters, CLICK HERE.
