The Merritt Island Mustangs are in a must-win situation tonight as they host Belen Jesuit in Game 2 of the FHSAA Region 4-4A baseball semifinals.

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – The Merritt Island Mustangs are in a must-win situation tonight as they host Belen Jesuit in Game 2 of the FHSAA Region 4-4A baseball semifinals.

The Mustangs fell 3-0 in extra innings on Monday night, putting them on the brink of elimination. With their season hanging in the balance, Merritt Island must defeat the Wolverines tonight to force a decisive Game 3.

If the Mustangs win, the series will shift to South Florida for the finale, scheduled for Thursday, May 1, at Belen Jesuit’s campus in Miami.

Tonight’s game begins at 6 p.m. at Merritt Island High School.

Merritt Island, the No. 2 seed in Region 4-4A, will look to bounce back with strong pitching and timely offense to extend its playoff run.

Meanwhile, No. 6 seed Belen Jesuit hopes to clinch the series and advance to the regional finals with another win.
