BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – The Cocoa Police Department officially welcomed its newest officer this week as Chief Evander Collier IV administered the Police Officer’s Oath to Carly Rosas in a special swearing-in ceremony.

Rosas, 31, is originally from Miami and relocated to Brevard County in 2018.

She graduated from the Law Enforcement Academy at Eastern Florida State College in 2020 and is currently pursuing her associate degree.

The Cocoa Police Department officially welcomed its newest officer on Monday morning as Chief Evander Collier IV administered the Police Officer’s Oath to Carly Rosas in a special swearing-in ceremony.

Bringing over four years of prior law enforcement experience, Rosas now begins her transition into the department. She will spend the next several weeks learning internal policies and procedures and participating in the department’s Field Training Evaluation Program.

Upon successful completion of all training phases, Rosas will be assigned to a patrol squad and begin solo duty.

The addition of Officer Rosas marks a continued effort by the Cocoa Police Department to strengthen its force with experienced and dedicated personnel.
