FHP: driver of a Honda Odyssey was pronounced dead at the scene

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA — A deadly crash on Memorial Day claimed the life of one driver on Interstate 95 in Melbourne, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
A Florida Highway Patrol spokesperson said the collision happened around 12:25 p.m. Monday in the southbound lanes just north of the Pineda Causeway.
The incident involved a 2023 Honda Odyssey and a 2003 Ford F-350.
The driver of the Honda Odyssey, an adult woman, was pronounced dead at the scene. Three passengers in the Odyssey suffered injuries described as non-life-threatening and were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Ford pickup was not injured and remained at the scene.
As of 1:30 p.m. Monday, troopers had blocked the inside and center southbound lanes of the highway to investigate, while the outside lane remained open to traffic.
Florida Highway Patrol officials say the crash is still under investigation.
