BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA — Boys & Girls Clubs of Brevard County invites families, supporters, and community members to its Back-to-School Bash on August 2, starting at 11 a.m.
The event will be held at 814 Dixon Blvd. to help raise critical funds for youth transportation needs.
Brevard Public Schools has given a surplus bus to the Club to be used for routes to the local schools. They are excited to put this bus into use this school year and serve more young people.
“This school bus is a transportation blessing that will allow many more of our youth to experience the incredible benefits the Boys & Girls Club has to offer” Alan Frisher, Board Member and Chair for the Back The Bus initiative.
This fun, family-friendly event marks the start of a new school year, and highlights the urgent need for safe, consistent transportation for Club members. Many children face daily challenges just getting to the Club, where they receive homework help, meals, mentorship, and a safe place to grow.

Event features include
● Free backpacks and school supplies for youth, while supplies last, donated by Brevard Schools Foundation with registration for the after school program
BBQ style food provided by Cocoa Police Department, Sonny’s and Kevin Small.
● Tours of a Boys & Girls Club, stories from Club families and inspiration from Community Advocates for a great start of the school year opportunities to sponsor a seat, a route, or the full bus.
“A ride to the Club is more than transportation, it’s a lifeline to opportunity,” said Erin Harvey, Brevard County Senior Development Officer of Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida. “With the support of our community, we can ensure every child who needs us has a way to get here.”
Funds raised will go directly toward a CDL Driver, Bus monitor, fuel, maintenance, insurance and future purchase of a new bus. This effort will allow us to reach more neighborhoods with limited transportation access.

Join us and help drive change, one mile, one child, one future at a time. Current supporters include: Disney Cruise Line, Gratium Wealth Planning, Rotary Club of Suntree, Viera Company, and Brevard Public Schools.
