Repeat Sex Offender ‘Veronica’ Waterman, 66, Arrested By Cocoa Police on New Charges Involving Child Porn

Cocoa police detectives continue to explore the full extent of Waterman’s activities

Charged with 10 counts of possession of material depicting sexual conduct by a child and 10 counts of possession and promotion of child pornography.

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA — A man with a history of sexual crimes against children is facing new charges involving possession of child pornography.

“Veronica” Waterman, 66, formerly known as Rodney Waterman, is in the Brevard County Jail without bond after detectives served him with an affidavit arresting him for 10 counts of possession of material depicting sexual conduct by a child and 10 counts of possession and promotion of child pornography.

“The current investigation was initiated over a month ago after a concerned witness reported that Waterman had shown images depicting graphic child sexual abuse,” said Yvonne Martinez, Cocoa Police Public Information Officer.

“This report prompted an immediate and thorough investigation by detectives, during which a disturbing pattern of behavior began to emerge.”

Statements made by Waterman, coupled with physical evidence recovered from his residence, revealed not only the possession of child exploitation material but also raised significant concern about the potential for Waterman to escalate his criminal behavior.

“We encourage residents in the area to stay aware of their surroundings and report any unusual or concerning activity,” said Cocoa Police Detective Amanda Torello. “Community awareness plays an important role in helping us protect vulnerable individuals and ensure everyone’s safety.”

The investigation remains ongoing as detectives continue to explore the full extent of Waterman’s activities and whether other individuals may be at risk or involved. Authorities are urging anyone with additional information to come forward.
