WATCH LIVE: At 5:04 p.m. ET on Tuesday, July 1, SpaceX successfully launched a Falcon 9 rocket carrying the EUMETSAT Meteosat Third Generation Sounder-1 (MTG-S1) satellite into geosynchronous transfer orbit.
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – At 5:04 p.m. ET on Tuesday, July 1, SpaceX successfully launched a Falcon 9 rocket carrying the EUMETSAT Meteosat Third Generation Sounder-1 (MTG-S1) satellite into geosynchronous transfer orbit.
Liftoff took place from Launch Complex 39A (LC-39A) at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
The MTG-S1 satellite, operated by the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT), is a next-generation weather satellite designed to significantly improve weather forecasting capabilities across Europe and beyond.
