Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey Provides an Update on Missing Teen Giovanni Pelletier

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – On Friday, I gave an update to several of our local media outlets regarding our agency’s involvement in the missing person case of Giovanni Pelletier, age 18, who was last seen in Charlotte County, Florida.
As everyone is aware, our agency is assisting the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, which is the primary and lead agency on the case, as he was last seen in their jurisdiction.
In briefing the media early this morning, I shared with them that since the case started on August 1st, our agency has been deeply involved in the investigation and has been providing investigative resources to assist in locating the missing person.
As part of that assistance, we have provided not only Deputies who assisted in the case early on, but also Investigative Agents and Crime Scene members who have taken on various parts of the case, including conducting interviews of various members of our community.
Those interviews included the three young men who traveled to Charlotte County to give him a ride, all three of whom continue to be fully cooperative in all aspects of the investigation.
In addition to the interviews, our team also, in an abundance of caution, took in the vehicle that the three young men were driving at the time they traveled to the West Coast of Florida.
The vehicle was actually provided to us by a family member who is also fully cooperating in the investigation. The vehicle was subsequently processed by our Crime Scene Unit in conjunction with Investigators from Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office.
As I shared with the media, it is important to know that from the onset of this investigation, there has been absolutely no evidence or indication that Giovanni Pelletier ever came to Brevard County.
In fact, just the opposite, as all current evidence in the case demonstrates, Giovanni never left the west coast of Florida and never came to Brevard County.
Please know that if that were to change in any capacity at any moment, our team would immediately commit every available resource we have to search for Giovanni in any area possible, but at this time, no evidence indicates he ever came to Brevard.
In addition, we are continuing to assist the lead agency in every possible way, and we ask that anyone with information concerning his location or any other specifics contact the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office directly so that any potential leads can be appropriately vetted.
