BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — The Brevard County UF/IFAS Extension in Cocoa is offering a wide variety of educational and family-friendly events for residents of all ages.

The UF/IFAS Extension Office is located at 3695 Lake Drive, Cocoa.

● Canning Jams & Jellies – Tuesday, August 14, 6 – 8 p.m., UF/IFAS Extension Office
Come learn how to can your own Jam! We only have a few spots left in this fun evening class.

● Backyard Chicken Training – Wednesday, August 20, 6 – 8 p.m., UF/IFAS Extension Office
Come learn how to raise your own backyard chickens at our fun and informative class.

● Brevard County 4-H Open House – Saturday, August 16, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., UF/IFAS Extension Office
Meet 4-H leaders and members, explore club opportunities, and find the right fit for your family. Learn more about 4-H.

● Great Southeast Pollinator Census in the Brevard Discovery Garden – Friday, August 22 – Saturday, August 23, 9 – 10 a.m., UF/IFAS Extension Office
Join us in the garden to learn about pollinators and participate in the Great Southeast Pollinator Census.

● Cape Canaveral Veterans Park Pollinator Census – Friday, August 22, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m., Veterans Memorial Park, 265 Polk Avenue, Cape Canaveral.
Attend a short training session followed by a live pollinator count.

● Cooking the Mediterranean Way: Med Instead of Meds – Wednesdays, August 21 – September 25 at 10 a.m. or 6 p.m. UF/IFAS Extension Office
Join this six-week series to learn how to adopt the delicious and heart-healthy Mediterranean lifestyle.

● Butterfly Appreciation Day – Wednesday, September 3, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., Brevard Discovery Garden, UF/IFAS Extension Office
Celebrate butterflies with the Master Gardener Volunteers and Merritt Island Wildlife Association.

● EmpowerU!: 8-week Advocacy Training Program – September 15 – November 8, Hybrid, 6 – 7:30 p.m., UF/IFAS Extension Office
