The fee for the Endless Summer specialty license plate is $25

TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA — Florida’s Endless Summer License Plate joins forces in a non-profit effort to promote the evolution and preservation of surfing culture and the environment in which it flourishes.
If you are driving the roads of Florida, you have probably seen the surfer license plate with the sunrise/sunset. It is the Endless Summer plate, created by Surfing’s Evolution & Preservation Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable foundation, which supports organizations with like-minded missions.
The Foundation has a motto about the Endless Summer plate. They came to it after hearing over and over how pretty the plate is, and we agree. The motto is, ‘It’s not just a pretty plate.’
With the $25 fee for the Endless Summer specialty license plate, Endless Summer plate holders become part of our community of 100 organizations, all making a difference in our State. Many of our partner organizations throughout Florida work to protect the health of Florida’s beaches and waterways.
They address causes such as coastal pollution, beach ecology, and water safety. They educate the community and, most importantly, our young people, on preserving our beaches and waterways for the future.
The community includes over 60 organizations throughout the state that support beach and waterway cleanups throughout the year, including Keep Florida Beautiful and many of its affiliates.
One organization, Volunteercleanup.org, organizes cleanups and also helps other organizations organize cleanups. Other programs these particular organizations conduct include conservation initiatives such as sea oat planting, beach mice breeding, dune restoration, and much more.
A sampling of the community of organizations Surfing’s Evolution & Preservation Foundation, Inc. partners with includes The Florida State Parks Foundation, Guy Harvey Education Foundation, Brevard and Miami Zoos, Marine Research Center, various Aquariums, Science Centers, and Research Centers and many more.
The community includes organizations that promote surfing, such as Florida Boardriders, Florida Special Olympics, and more. Water safety and swimming organizations include various YMCA’s, The Gift of Swimming, Ripples of Impact, Drown Zero International, Ocean Rescue, and Lifeguard Organizations. All partners can be found on the partner page at www.BuythePlate.com.
All the organizations work tirelessly for Florida. In particular, litter cleanup is a significant focus. This even extends to the Surfing organizations as keeping the beach and ocean protected is essential for all. Organizations plan cleanups before holidays, such as July 4th so that the general public can enjoy the holidays and the days after.
These organizations are gathering volunteers all year round, but especially for the major events such as: The Great American Cleanup (March-May) and International Coastal Cleanup (Sept-Oct). They bring young people into the fold with a major emphasis on education and outstanding youth programs.
A perfect example is Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots. An event was held in the Tampa area with workshops for young people. The young people were introduced to the groups in the area where they could volunteer. The next day was a day of service with the intent that after the introductions, they would continue working with those organizations.
“The Endless Summer® plate, Surfing’s Evolution & Preservation Foundation and our entire community of partners, are so grateful to the plate holders for their $25 fees. We appreciate their contribution and are so proud to have them in our community. It is overwhelming the reach of the $25 fee. We wish they could see all that they do,” said the foundation.
“We would like to encourage anyone to give of their time, to an organization in their area that may be of interest. Volunteers are vital to accomplishing the mission of these organizations. The next exciting and important event will be the International Coastal Cleanup (Sept-Oct), so there is time to get involved,” the foundation added.
