BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA – Get ready for Brevard County’s most paw-some beach tradition: The Brevard Humane Society 14th Annual East Coast Dog Surfing Festival, sponsored by Ron Jon Surf Shop.
This premier coastal celebration returns to Lori Wilson Park, 1500 N. Atlantic Ave, Cocoa Beach, on Easter Sunday, April 5, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The festival offers a unique opportunity for families and their four-legged friends to enjoy a day of sun, surf, and community impact. While Cocoa Beach typically restricts dogs on the sand, this event provides special beach access for participating pups for a small $5 donation (proof of vaccinations required).

Event Highlights Include:
9:00 AM: Bunny Paddle Out – A festive Easter-themed start to the morning.
10:00 AM: Doggy Easter Outfit Contest – Pups show off their best holiday finery.
12:00 PM: East Coast Dog Surfing Championship – The main event where incredible surf dogs compete for top honors.
1:30 PM: Doggy Bikini Contest – Beach-ready fashion for our furry friends.
All Day: Intro to Dog Surfing lessons, live music, local vendors, and over $500 in prizes.
“Every splash at this festival supports the homeless animals in our care,” said Theresa Clifton, Executive Director of the Brevard Humane Society. “It’s a wonderful way for the community to come together, celebrate the human-animal bond, and help us continue our mission of finding homes for pets forever in need.”
Kick-Off Celebration:
The festivities begin early with a Pre-Event Party on Saturday, April 4, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Cocoa Beach Fish Camp Grill. Attendees can meet the canine competitors, enjoy raffles, and gear up for the big surf competition.
Founded in 1952, the Brevard Humane Society is a no-kill-for-space, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. As the oldest animal welfare group in Brevard, BHS relies on community events and donations to provide compassionate care and sanctuary for displaced animals.
