residents can check out blood pressure monitoring kit from library branches for free

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brevard County Libraries has partnered with the American Heart Association to initiate a ‘Libraries with Heart’ program.
This program allows Brevard County Libraries to meet our citizens where they are by offering Self-Monitoring Blood Pressure Kits.
Do you know if your blood pressure is in a healthy range? Knowing your blood pressure and understanding its significance for your health is an essential part of maintaining a heart-healthy lifestyle. However, Brevard County Libraries recognizes that not everyone can make it to the doctor’s office as often as they would like.
Brevard County residents can check out a blood pressure monitoring kit from select library branches for free with their library card.
Each kit contains a blood pressure monitor, an arm cuff (available in two sizes), an informational packet (in English & en español), and a log to track your readings. Once they can visit a doctor’s office, residents can use the log to discuss their blood pressure readings with a healthcare provider.
These Self-Monitoring Blood Pressure Kits are a welcome addition to the Library of Things collection provided at Brevard County Libraries.
They are available to check out for up to 3 weeks at the following branch locations:
• Titusville Public Library
• Eau Gallie Public Library
• Catherine Schweinsberg Rood Central Library
• Mims/Scottsmoor Public Library
• Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Public Library
• Melbourne Public Library
• Franklin DeGroodt Memorial Library
• South Mainland Public Library
• Cape Canaveral Public Library
• Satellite Beach Public Library
