Merritt Island Holiday Illumination Celebration Returns to Brevard Veterans Memorial Park on Dec. 13

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA –  The beloved Florida-style winter festival, Holiday Illumination Celebration, returns to The Brevard Veterans Memorial Park in Merritt Island, behind Merritt Square Mall, on Saturday, December 13.

Festivities kick off with the Holiday Illumination 5K Fun Run/Walk at 8 a.m., sponsored by Trinity Fitness. From 3 – 7 p.m., Community Advocacy for Merritt Island will host the festival also at the Brevard Veterans Memorial Park, located at 400 S. Sykes Creek Parkway, Merritt Island.

This free event is presented by CAMI and the Brevard Veterans Memorial Center and is generously sponsored by Triangle Auto.

An estimated 1,500 attendees are expected to enjoy the festival, which will feature:

· Live music, including local favorite Johnny Danger Live

· Food truck park offering sweet and savory treats

· Christmas marketplace showcasing local artisans and businesses

· Gingerbread House competition

· Family-friendly activities including crafts, games, bounce houses, axe throwing, face painting, and much more!

· 50/50 raffle and the lighting of the Merritt Island Christmas Tree

Free parking will be available with golf cart shuttles assisting mobility-impaired attendees to and from designated handicapped parking areas.
