BREAKING: Fatal Crash in Rockledge Involving Brightline Train vs Vehicle Near Eyster Boulevard

BREVARD COUNTY • ROCKLEDGE, FLORIDA – One person was killed Friday at the railroad crossing at Eyster Boulevard and Rockledge Boulevard (U.S. 1) when a vehicle was struck by a Brightline train.

First responders from Rockledge and Brevard County Fire Rescue have arrived at the scene and secured the crossing while crews assessed the vehicle and train for additional hazards.

Authorities said the crash occurred in the travel lanes adjacent to the Eyster Boulevard crossing on the Florida East Coast Railway/Brightline corridor.

The vehicle sustained catastrophic damage. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials have not released the person’s identity pending next-of-kin notification.
