Michael Floyd Charged with Burglary of a Vehicle, Criminal Mischief, Resisting Without Violence and Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – In Brevard County, we say that you can run, but you’re only gonna go to jail tired, and in this case, probably hurting just a little bit too.
Deputies responded to a call for service at a local establishment in Cape Canaveral after employees saw a male pulling on car door handles in the parking lot, attempting to get in them. Deputy LaRoche arrived on scene and saw a male, later identified as Michael Floyd, in the passenger seat of a truck, going through the glove box.
Deputy LaRoche addressed the subject, and instead of following the simplest of directions, Floyd decided to run for it, which didn’t work out too well for him.
When Floyd took off, Deputy LaRoche warned him that he was going to get tased….and of course, like you would imagine, that’s exactly what happened.
At that point, Floyd stopped; however, he then decided to continue his shenanigans, yelling at everyone as they were trying to remove the taser probes, and at one point, he even tried to kick one of our Deputies, which is a bad mistake here in Brevard County.
Oh, and just to seal the deal, Floyd decided to expel some bodily fluids from his nose onto one of our Deputies who was helping to restrain him, which didn’t go so well for him.
Deputies subsequently learned that Floyd not only broke into one vehicle but also caused damage to two other vehicles. After being cleared at the hospital, whose actions earned him a ride to, Floyd was transported back to Ivey’s Iron Bar Lodge, where he is no stranger, and yes, I said back, because he was just released from the Lodge the day before.
In fact, if you watched our most recent episode of “HIT The Streets,” then you may remember Floyd as he yelled at us like a little baby for ruining his life after we pulled him over and he had cocaine in his car.
This time, Floyd is taking the ride to the Lodge on a “No Bond” status for Burglary of a Vehicle, Criminal Mischief, Resisting Without Violence, and Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer.
Thank you to the employees at the local establishment for “seeing something and saying something” and to Deputy LaRoche and the rest of the squad for their great work at stopping Floyd from committing any more crimes.
Hopefully, a judge will do the right thing this time and keep his butt locked up where he can’t victimize anyone else.
– Sheriff Wayne Ivey
