ORLANDO, FLORIDA – Mary Julia Cianfrogna, lovingly known as “Julie” and “Judy” to all who cherished her, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family in Orlando on September 18, 2025. Born on July 15, 1936, in Greenville, Kentucky, Julie’s life was a beautiful tapestry of grace, warmth, and unwavering kindness.
Raised on a farm in western Kentucky alongside her nine siblings, Jean, Henry, Pauline, Ray, David, Sam, Daniel, Jim, and Ruthanne. Julie learned the value of hard work early on, fearlessly driving mule teams and tractors by the tender age of 10.
The daughter of TJ and Gladys Newman, she carried their Christian values through life, finding deep joy in her faith as a devoted member of St. Teresa Catholic Church in Titusville, FL. Julie’s spirit was one of pure goodness; she never spoke ill of anyone, always extended a helping hand, and embodied a warmth that made the world feel a little softer.
Julie poured her compassion into caring for others as a Registered Nurse, primarily in Cardiac Care. When she stepped away from full-time work at the hospital to be a homemaker, she continued her passion for healing as a volunteer running the clinic at St. Teresa Catholic School.
Julie loved music, bowling, and playing golf, notably hitting a hole-in-one, and even started a women’s golf tournament that ran for several years at La Cita Country Club, known as The Cianfrogna Classic.
Above all, Julie was a supporting wife to Lou Cianfrogna, a great mom, a tireless worker, and the heartbeat of her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her four children: Donna Cherry and her husband, Rob, with grandchildren Christopher and Michael; Genny Breslin, with grandchildren James and Tyler; John Roberts and his wife Bonnie, with grandchildren Julie Ann, Genny Lynn, and James; and Louis Cianfrogna III and his wife Natasha, with grandchildren Louis IV and Alexandra. She is also survived by a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and dear friends who were like family.
Julie will be greatly missed-her grace, her smile, and her unyielding kindness. Preceded in death by her husband Attorney Louis Cianfrogna, her granddaughter Genny Lynn, and siblings Daniel, Henry, and Jean.
A service to honor her will be held on Friday, September 26, at 11:30 a.m. at the San Pedro Spiritual Development Center Chapel in Winter Park, FL, followed by a Celebration of Life at the Interlachen Country Club in Winter Park, FL, at 1 p.m.
