Palm Bay Motorcyclist Dies After Crash Thursday Morning in Melbourne, Victim Identified

Roy Breault, 50, of Palm Bay, was killed early Thursday morning following a collision between a motorcycle and an SUV at the intersection of Eau Gallie Boulevard and Stewart Avenue, according to the Melbourne Police Department.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – A Palm Bay man was killed early Thursday after his motorcycle collided with an SUV in Melbourne, according to the Melbourne police.

The crash happened around 6:30 a.m. on Sept. 11 at the intersection of Eau Gallie Boulevard and Stewart Avenue.

Investigators said a 2023 Nissan SUV, driven by 34-year-old Melissa Lopez of Melbourne, was heading east on Eau Gallie when it attempted to turn left onto Stewart Avenue.

According to a Melbourne police spokesperson, the SUV entered the path of a westbound 2014 Suzuki motorcycle, causing the collision.

The motorcyclist, identified as 50-year-old Roy Breault of Palm Bay, was pronounced dead at the scene by Brevard County Fire Rescue and the Melbourne Fire Department.

Police said Breault’s motorcycle may also have been struck by another vehicle after the initial crash.

The Melbourne Police Department’s Traffic Enforcement Unit is leading the investigation. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact Investigator Officer Whitright at 321-616-6116.
