BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office announced a new joint effort with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) aimed at tackling illegal immigration across Central Florida. Sheriff Wayne Ivey outlined the initiative, dubbed “One Way Ticket,” during a press conference on Friday.
According to Ivey, the program represents a coordinated partnership between local, state, and federal authorities to identify, investigate, and remove individuals in the country unlawfully who pose risks to public safety.
“This initiative is about protecting our community and working hand-in-hand with our state and federal partners,” Sheriff Ivey said. “By combining resources and intelligence, we can make sure those who come here illegally and commit crimes will be held accountable.”
The “One Way Ticket” operation is expected to increase joint patrols, intelligence sharing, and targeted enforcement across the region.
Officials emphasized the program will prioritize offenders involved in criminal activity.
ICE representatives echoed the Sheriff’s message, stressing the importance of interagency cooperation in addressing immigration-related enforcement challenges.
The Florida Highway Patrol will assist with traffic-related operations connected to the initiative.
Sheriff Ivey underscored that the effort is not only about enforcement but also about reassuring residents that law enforcement agencies are united in maintaining community safety.
“This partnership sends a strong message that Central Florida will not be a safe haven for illegal activity,” Ivey added.
