Eastern Florida State College Men’s Tennis Picks Up Pair of Wins on Final Day at ITA Cup

Titans compete at Embry-Riddle Hidden Duals beginning Oct. 31

BREVARD COUNTY • FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College men’s tennis team picked up wins in both singles and doubles Sunday at the ITA Cup in Rome, Georgia.
Fernando Martinez Belinchon finished in third place by defeating Bakersfield College’s Mateusz Lipczynski 6-3, 6-3. He finished the tournament 2-1.
Martinez is the first Titans men’s tennis player to finish third at the ITA Cup.
In doubles, the team of Marko Miljanic and Filip Sormaz played in the consolation finals Sunday and also picked up a win.
The duo got off to a bit of a slow start, trailing 4-3 but bounced back with three straight points to win the first set 6-4. They continued to play well, winning the second set 6-1.
They become the first Titans doubles team to win the consolation final at the ITA Cup.
Eastern Florida State College will compete at the Embry-Riddle Hidden Duals beginning Friday, Oct. 31 to wrap up the fall season.
