BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – As Brevard County residents begin cleaning up after the weekend’s flooding, officials with Brevard County Emergency Management are reminding the public to follow proper debris disposal guidelines.
Residents are asked not to bag debris or place it near trees, mailboxes, water meters, or under overhead wires. Instead, debris should be sorted into three separate piles for efficient collection and safety.
Vegetative debris includes branches and leaves; household waste covers items such as furniture and mattresses; and construction debris consists of materials such as fencing, plywood, drywall, carpets, and flooring.
Following these guidelines helps ensure safe and timely debris removal as cleanup efforts continue throughout the county.
