BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – It was a morning filled with hope, strength, and unity as hundreds gathered at The Avenue Viera for the annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk. Among the participants was Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey, joined by his dog Saint and numerous members of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office team, all walking in support of breast cancer survivors and the fight to find a cure.

“What an amazing morning at The Avenue in Viera for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk,” Sheriff Ivey shared.

“I want to thank all of our team members for joining Saint and me as we celebrate the survivors that were out here today and help bring awareness to this incredible cause. We are in this battle together—it takes a community to protect a community.”

The event, hosted annually by the American Cancer Society, raises funds and awareness for breast cancer research, patient support, and prevention programs.

Survivors, families, local businesses, and first responders came together wearing pink, carrying signs of encouragement, and walking to honor those who have battled or are currently fighting the disease.

This year’s walk highlighted the importance of community collaboration in promoting early detection, supporting research, and offering hope to those affected by breast cancer.

Sheriff Ivey’s participation emphasized the department’s ongoing commitment to supporting health and wellness initiatives throughout Brevard County.

As the crowd cheered, pink ribbons waved, and stories of courage were shared, one message was clear—Brevard County stands united in the fight against breast cancer.
